Our History

Altapac Services Pty Ltd was founded in 1972 by Paul ‘Pinky’Evans as the first automotive window tinting supplier on the east coast of Australia.

After a quick growth period, Altapac moved from its original location in Hamilton to its current site on Park Ave, opposite the then named Garden City shopping centre, now known as Westfield, Kotara.

VARIETY, INNOVATION & A HISTORY OF SERVICE


Never one for sitting still, Pinky expanded Altapac’s offering to include a variety of products like photocopiers, mobile phones, and other products car alarms and locking systems.

In the nineties, Altapac expanded again providing all manner of automotive accessories including towbars, roof racks and car phones. Altapac was recognised as a communications and car accessory authority, even becoming Newcastle’s home of Optus.

FURTHER DEVELOPMENT: INTRODUCING ALTACUT


The mid-nineties saw Altapac develop a Computer cut window tinting software package to further enhance the efficiency and accuracy of its tinting process and maintain its position as the leaders in this field.

Now, Altacut is used by some of the largest tint houses, car dealers and service groups in the country. All supported by Altapac in Kotara.

ALTAPAC TODAY: THE AUTOMOTIVE SUPERSTORE


Today the business mainly consists of its core product of flat glass and automotive tinting and has expanded its automotive theme to include a huge range of automotive accessories including Roof Racks, Car Alarms, Car Care Products, Tow Bars, Cargo Barriers, Bull Bars, Paint Protection Films, Security Films, Anti-Graffiti Films and Nudge Bars.

Recently the business has now further expanded into Paint Protection Films, Child Restraints, Van Fit Outs, and Vehicle Signage.

Altapac is still owned by the Evans family and is still committed to providing the best service, products and pricing to all it’s customers.

Paul’s son, Stephen Evans, is the current Managing Director of Altapac.
